Saw this word fundal height written in my report and the gynac also mentioned it but i didnt fully get it. Matlab what exactly is fundus and why do they measure it? Pls explain simply.
Fundus is basically the top of the uterus, and its position changes as the baby grows. As long as your doctor says your fundal height is fine, you are good to continue your gentle walks or prenatal yoga.
Fundus is just the upper curved part of your uterus. Doctors measure it from outside to check how your baby is growing. It is very normal, so don't worry about it.
When I saw 'fundus' on my ultrasound report, I asked my doctor at Cloudnine immediately. She explained it is just the top part of the uterus, and they measure fundal height to see if the baby is growing properly. Always ask your hospital staff to explain these medical terms to ease your mind.
It's just the top of your womb. But if your doctor mentioned any specific issue with your fundal height measurement, please discuss it with them clearly. Don't try to Google too much as it can cause unnecessary panic.
Don't get confused by big medical words. Fundus is simply the top of your uterus. Measuring fundal height is just a standard way for doctors to check if your baby's growth is on track.
