Got my reports today and the gynac kept saying my hb is a bit low. I just nodded but honestly didnt fully understand what she meant. Can someone explain in simple words what hb actually is and why everyone keeps checking it?
Oh I totally understand how confusing these medical terms can be when you first see your report! Hb means hemoglobin dear, it basically shows how much blood we have to support our sweet little baby. Don't worry at all, just eat well and trust your doctor.
Hb stands for hemoglobin, which measures iron in your blood. It is so important during pregnancy and even after delivery when you start breastfeeding because it keeps your energy levels up. Just follow your doc's advice on diet.
Hb is hemoglobin, basically blood levels. My doc said it carries oxygen to baby and should be around 11-12. If it is low, they might give iron supplements, so get your blood reports checked by your gynac.
It means your hemoglobin levels. My doc tracked this along with my sugar levels very closely. If it is low, they ask you to eat iron-rich foods, but be careful with sweet juices or dates if you have high sugar like I did.
Hb is just hemoglobin, which is your blood count. I remember worrying so much about this during my time, but now my little one is running around and all that stress feels so small! Just take your iron tablets as prescribed and you'll be fine.
