We just started trying and honestly im a bit new to all these terms. People keep saying conceive this conceive that and I want to understand exactly what it means. Can someone explain in simple words?
To conceive means the moment a pregnancy starts, the sperm fertilises the egg. My doctor uses 'conception date' to mean roughly when that happened, though they count the pregnancy from your last period for dating. Basically it = getting pregnant.
Conceive simply means getting pregnant, when the egg and sperm meet and the pregnancy begins. So 'when did you conceive' just means when did pregnancy start. Nothing complicated.
I was confused by this word too when we started trying. It just means to become pregnant. Like 'trying to conceive' means trying for a baby. We use it a lot in the planning phase.
