The gynac keeps asking my LMP date and counting weeks from there and honestly I just nod but I dont fully get it. Can someone explain in simple words what it actually means? feeling a bit dumb asking but better to know na.
It means Last Menstrual Period. Most pregnancy apps ask for it because they calculate your due date and trimester from there. I just saved mine in the app and it auto tracked everything for me, super handy.
LMP simply means the first day of your last period dear. My mother always reminded me to remember it because the doctor needs it to calculate the due date correctly. Note it down somewhere safe.
I was so confused by this too at first. So LMP is the first day of your last period, and weirdly the doctor counts you as already 2 weeks pregnant from then even before conceiving. Did anyone else find this part confusing?
LMP is just Last Menstrual Period, the first day of your last period. Doctors count your pregnancy weeks and due date from that day, not from the day you conceived. Keep that date noted, they ask it every single visit.
