Home test came positive and i have my first gynac appointment next week. Im a bit nervous na, dont know what all they will do to confirm. Can someone tell what to expect in that visit?
I've been reading up on this because we are also trying. I think after a positive home test, the doctor does a blood test to confirm the pregnancy hormone levels. And then maybe an ultrasound scan a bit later to see the baby for the first time? It sounds like a big moment.
First, home pregnancy tests are pretty good now, you know. But for confirmation, my gynac did a blood test to check HCG levels, which is super accurate. Then a few weeks later, they do an ultrasound to actually see the baby and confirm the heartbeat. That's when it all feels real!
It usually starts with a blood test to detect the pregnancy hormone, HCG, which is very sensitive. Then, a few weeks later, an ultrasound scan is done to confirm the gestational sac and then the fetal heartbeat. It's a wonderful journey to see your little one growing, even from the very beginning.
So, when I went to my doctor, she first confirmed it with a blood test to check the hormone levels. After that, she scheduled an ultrasound a few weeks later. That ultrasound was so exciting, seeing the little tiny sac and then later, the heartbeat!
Haha, first they do a pee test, then a blood test which is more accurate. Then, the real magic happens with an ultrasound, where you see a tiny blob and suddenly your whole life changes! From there, it's just a whirlwind of appointments and less sleep forever. Worth it, though!
