My report after the scan says baby is in some percentile and i didnt understand what it means. The doc explained quickly but i forgot half of it yaar. Can someone explain in simple words?
I saw a percentile on my scan report and panicked thinking it was bad. My doctor reassured me it was perfectly fine and just a comparison number. Did others also worry when they first saw these numbers?
Basically it tells where your baby falls on the growth chart compared to babies of the same age. A lower or higher percentile alone isnt scary, the trend over scans matters more. Let your gynac interpret it, they look at the full picture.
Percentile compares your baby's growth, like weight or size, to other babies at the same week. My doctor said being in the 50th percentile means average, and a wide range is normal. It is just a tracking tool, not a pass or fail.
