What does spotting mean in early pregnancy?

I saw a little brownish spotting today and im only 5 weeks. Honestly im a bit worried but its not heavy or with pain. Did anyone here have spotting early and everything turned out fine?

Light spotting can be normal but always report it to your gynac.

Spotting in early days scared me so much during my pregnancy, I understand the fear completely. Mine turned out fine but I called my doctor immediately each time. Please reach out to yours too, it's always worth getting that reassurance, and be kind to yourself.

I had spotting and was told to come in straight away, and I'm glad I did because they monitored me closely. Light spotting can be okay but please dont just google it, call your gynac. Better to be checked and reassured than to wait and worry.

My gynac said light spotting in early pregnancy can be common, like implantation bleeding or after a scan, and is often harmless. But she was clear that any bleeding should be reported so they can check. Heavy bleeding with cramps especially needs to be seen immediately.
