My mother-in-law told me that mild tightening is just the body preparing for labor. However, we should always trust our doctor's advice over anything else. If you feel any sharp pain or if the tightening is regular, please contact your doctor.
Stomach tightening is usually Braxton Hicks contractions, which are harmless practice contractions. But let's be safe: if you are before 37 weeks and having painful tightening, it could be a warning sign. Call your doctor immediately.
I have read that stomach tightening in later pregnancy can be Braxton Hicks, which is just the uterus practicing. Is it happening frequently for you? Definitely ask your gynac if you feel any discomfort or if it happens in early pregnancy.
Bacha, this stomach tightening can happen if your body is tired or you are dehydrated. Rest for some time and drink a glass of warm water or coconut water. But if the tightening is painful or doesn't stop with rest, please inform your doctor immediately.
Sometimes when I overeat or have gas from my cravings, my stomach feels super tight! But jokes apart, mild tightening can be Braxton Hicks contractions, which are normal. Just make sure to drink water and rest, but if it really hurts, call your doctor.
