My doc keeps saying we want a term delivery and i just nodded along but didnt really get what it means exactly. Im 34 weeks now so it keeps coming up. Can someone explain in simple words?
My doctor explained term means the baby is considered fully developed, usually from around 37 weeks to 40 weeks. Before 37 is preterm and that is watched more closely. So full term is the safe arrival window she told me.
Term basically means the pregnancy reached the normal completed stage, around the 9 month mark. Both my kids came at term and it just means baby is ready. Your gynac tracks this at every visit.
