My gynac kept using this word during my last scan and i just nodded like i understood. Im 7 weeks and honestly too nervous to ask her again. Can someone explain in simple words what viability actually means na?
My doctor mentioned a viability scan early on and I had no idea what it meant, I got nervous. Turns out it was just checking the heartbeat and growth. Did anyone else also feel anxious before that first scan?
I learnt this word during a tense early scan after my earlier loss. For me viability meant they could see the heartbeat and it gave me so much relief. If you are waiting for a viability scan, I understand the anxiety, lean on your doctor and take it gently.
My gynac explained viability in early pregnancy means the scan confirms a heartbeat and that the pregnancy is growing well in the right place. Later in pregnancy viability also refers to the stage where a baby could survive outside the womb. She used it during my early scan to reassure me it was progressing.
