What food is good for brain development during pregnancy?
Im in my second trimester and my mom keeps telling me to eat certain things for the baby's brain. wanted to know what you ladies actually included in your diet. trying to plan my meals properly na.
My amma always made me eat a small katori of soaked almonds and walnuts daily, said it helps the baby's brain. I did it more for her happiness honestly but doc also said dry fruits are good in moderation. Just dont overdo, balance is key na.
Honestly I didnt have time to make fancy stuff. I just kept a small dabba of almonds, walnuts at my desk and ate eggs daily. Simple and it worked, dont make it complicated.
My gynac told me omega 3 is the main thing for baby's brain, so she said add walnuts and flaxseeds and fish if u eat non veg. I started having 2 walnuts every morning soaked overnight. She also said folic acid from the prenatal covers a lot of it already, so dont stress about eating perfect.
Just adding from my side, the brain foods like nuts and dry fruits are good but if u have sugar issues like I did, check quantity with ur doc. Nuts are healthy but they still add up. Otherwise eggs, palak, fish all great choices.
Walnuts, eggs, dahi, leafy stuff like palak.. all good. But ngl the best part was I convinced myself dark chocolate counts also lol. Eat varied and u r fine.
