Honestly in first trimester I ate whatever stayed down, the nausea was brutal. Small frequent bland meals like toast, khichdi, fruit, curd rice worked best for me. Dont stress about a perfect diet yet, just keep something in your tummy and take your folic acid.
Focus on folate rich greens, dals, fruits, nuts and enough protein, plus your prescribed folic acid. Eat small portions often to dodge nausea. Wash fruits and veg well and avoid anything raw or unhygienic, simple as that.
You dont need fancy expensive superfoods yaar. Simple ghar ka khana, seasonal fruits, dal, eggs, peanuts, all cheap and nutritious. Save the money for your scans and tests instead, that is the practical move.
Eat balanced and dont go heavy on sweets and refined stuff, that habit helped me later when I got GD. Pair carbs with protein to stay steady. If you have any sugar history, ask your doctor or a dietician to plan your meals early.
