What fruits to avoid during pregnancy first trimester?
Im 7 weeks and my MIL keeps saying papaya and pineapple are not allowed, but my friend ate both and she's fine. Getting confused honestly. Can someone tell which fruits I should actually skip in these early weeks?
Beta our elders always said no to kachcha papita in the early months, and not too much pineapple. I followed that. Rest sab fruits khao freely. Just wash them nicely and prefer fresh cut at home, not from the road.
Most people are told to go easy on raw papaya and too much pineapple in early months. Ripe papaya in moderation is usually okay but the raw green one, avoid. Otherwise normal fruits like apple, banana, orange are great. Wash everything well.
The usual list is raw papaya and very large amounts of pineapple, but a lot of it is more caution than proven. Honestly variety and hygiene matter most. If u have any specific condition like gestational diabetes the fruit advice changes, so check with your own doctor.
My gynac said the common ones to limit are raw or semi ripe papaya and large amounts of pineapple, since they are traditionally believed to cause uterine activity. She said normal fruit servings of everything else are healthy and important. The bigger point she made was wash fruits properly and avoid cut fruit from outside to prevent infection.
Sister we always avoided green papaya in starting months. Otherwise apple, pomegranate, banana, all good for u. Just wash with clean water before eating. Dont stress too much, eat fresh and simple.
