What happens after miscarriage in early pregnancy?
Going through a really hard time right now, lost the pregnancy at around 6 weeks. Im just trying to understand what my body goes through after this, both physically and how long it takes. Pls share if u have been through it.
First, take rest and let your body heal, this is not your fault. There can be spotting for some days and your period will return after a few weeks. If anything feels off, dont hesitate to call your doctor.
My doctor explained the body usually starts its own process with bleeding and cramps, and then they do a follow up scan to confirm the uterus is empty. She also said wait for a couple of cycles before trying again. Best to follow your own doctor's plan though.
I totally understand what you must be feeling right now. Physically the bleeding settles in a week or two usually, but emotionally please be gentle with yourself, it's a real loss. Talk to someone, dont bottle it up.
Every case is different, some pass naturally and some need a scan to check if everything has cleared. If bleeding is very heavy or you get fever or strong pain, go to hospital right away. Your gynac will guide the follow up.
