Im in my last trimester and now my mind has jumped ahead to after delivery. Nobody really talks about how the body and everything feels once baby is out. Can the experienced mommas share what those first weeks are actually like?
After delivery your body needs real recovery time, especially with a C-section like mine. Theres bleeding for weeks, soreness, and a lot of feeding. Accept help from family, dont try to be a hero in week one.
The emotional part hit me harder than the physical. Some crying for no reason in the first days is common, but if low feelings dont lift after a couple weeks, please talk to your doctor. You are not alone in this.
After birth comes the fourth trimester basically. Lochia bleeding, cramping when feeding, mood swings, broken sleep. It settles over weeks. Eat well, hydrate, rest when baby sleeps, and ask for help without guilt.
Looking back, those early postpartum weeks were a blur of feeds and tears, but it does get easier, I promise. Take it one day at a time and dont compare your recovery to anyone else.
Feeding takes over your whole day in the start, it's normal. Your body slowly heals and milk supply settles in. If feeding hurts a lot or baby isnt latching, a lactation consultant is so worth it.
Honestly nobody prepared me for after. The bleeding, the body recovery, the hormones crashing, the night feeds. It's a lot and it's okay to feel overwhelmed. Be kind to yourself, you just did something huge.
