im in my third tri and getting close to due date, this is my first so i honestly have no idea what to expect. like once the water breaks do i rush to hospital immediately or wait? trying to prepare myself mentally.
My doctor told me after water breaks, contractions usually pick up and they keep an eye on baby's heartbeat. If labour doesnt start on its own in some hours they may induce. She said never delay coming in because of infection risk.
Just went through this 2 months back! My water broke at night and we rushed to hospital. They check you, monitor contractions and usually delivery happens within a day. Dont panic, just go to hospital fast once it breaks.
Take a breath, it sounds dramatic but its manageable. Water breaks, you go to hospital, they take over from there. Just keep the hospital number handy and a bag packed and you'll be fine.
Ok this is exactly the thing I'm nervous about. How do you even know its water and not just discharge? I keep wondering if I'll panic when it happens. Anyone else scared of this part?

Important, the moment you think water broke, call your gynac and go in even if no pain yet. Mine broke early and they had to monitor closely. Note the time and the colour of fluid, doctor will ask that.
