Im newly pregnant and so excited, i just want to know whats happening with the baby week by week. Honestly i keep imagining how big the baby is right now. Where do u all follow this from?
Honestly I read so much week by week that I started worrying about every little thing. The apps are nice but I had to stop checking 'what should happen this week' constantly. Did anyone else get too into it and stress more?
My doctor gave me a simple chart, first trimester is organ formation and that's why folic acid matters early, second is when you usually feel movements around 18-20 weeks, third is weight gain and lung maturity. She said don't compare your weeks to others, the milestones have a range.
Broadly it's three trimesters, first is forming and a lot of tiredness and nausea, second is the comfortable phase with the bump and movements, third is rapid growth and getting ready for delivery. Don't get anxious tracking every single week though.
It's a beautiful slow journey, every week the little one grows a bit more. Instead of memorising stages, just go to your scans and let the doctor reassure you. Each pregnancy moves at its own pace, that's okay.
I followed a week by week app and it was so fun, every week it told me the baby's size in fruits, ha, lentil, lime, mango. Early weeks are mostly your hormones changing, then organs form, then growth and movement. Pick one good app, it kept me excited.
