What happens if albumin is present in urine during pregnancy?
Got my routine test done at 30 weeks and the report shows albumin in urine. The doc has called me back this week but the wait is making me nervous. What does it actually mean for the baby? anyone else had this?
Please dont ignore this one. Protein/albumin in urine can be linked to BP issues in pregnancy and that needs monitoring. With me they caught it early through routine urine test and kept a close watch. If your report shows it, talk to your gynac soon, dont wait.
Okay I'll be honest I would also panic seeing this, but try not to. It just means show your doctor and let them decide. Check your BP too if you can. Hope it's nothing serious, update us na.
It's basically a flag the doctors use, not always a problem on its own but worth a proper check. Best thing is to take the report straight to your gynac rather than worrying about what it might mean. They'll connect it with your BP and other tests.
My doc told me albumin in urine is something they track because along with high BP and swelling it can point towards preeclampsia. By itself a trace can sometimes just be from a UTI or sample issue. Point is your doctor will know the context, so share the report with them and follow up.
Dont self diagnose from one report. Albumin showing up means they'll want to check your BP and maybe repeat the test. Get your blood pressure checked and call your gynac, it's a known thing they monitor in pregnancy.
