What happens if blood sugar is high during pregnancy?
I recently had my blood tests, and my sugar levels seem a bit elevated. I'm worried about what high blood sugar means for my baby and me during pregnancy. What are the general concerns or implications?
My fasting sugar came out slightly high in my recent report and I am so stressed. Did your doctor put you on medicine or did they ask you to manage it with diet first?
I felt so heartbroken when my sugar reports came back high, I literally cried thinking I did something wrong. But my doctor guided me so beautifully, and with a strict diet, my baby was born perfectly healthy.
I had gestational diabetes and had to manage it strictly with diet and walking. It can sometimes lead to a C-section if the baby grows too big, but my recovery was very smooth, so don't worry too much.
I am so worried about my glucose test next week because diabetes runs in my family. How do they treat high sugar during pregnancy, does it affect the baby? Please share your experiences.
