What happens if i sleep on my stomach during pregnancy?
Im a stomach sleeper my whole life and now at 4 months i sometimes wake up and realise im on my tummy. Gets me panicked instantly. Is it actually a problem at this stage or am i overthinking?
Dont worry about it too much. In the beginning it is harmless. As the belly grows you naturally start preferring your side. A pillow between the knees helps a lot, try it.
Early on it really doesnt matter, the bump is too small. As it grows it just becomes uncomfortable and your body wont let you anyway. Side sleeping, mostly left, is what most doctors recommend later.
I had this exact worry! My gynac told me in early months stomach sleeping is okay and i shouldnt panic if i wake up like that. Later it gets impossible anyway. Did anyone else stress about this too?
My app explained that in the first trimester stomach sleeping is fine. From the second trimester onwards side sleeping is suggested for better blood flow. A pregnancy pillow was a game changer for me.
