What happens if uterus comes down during pregnancy?
My aunt mentioned something about uterus coming down and now I cant stop thinking about it. I feel some heaviness and pressure down there lately, im around 24 weeks. Getting a little worried, will mention to my gynac too. What does it actually mean?
If you feel heaviness or a sensation of something coming down, please dont self diagnose, get your gynac to examine you. They check the cervix and position and decide if rest or any support is needed. It's something to be looked at rather than worried about silently at home.
My doctor explained that some pressure or heaviness low down is common as the baby grows and isnt the same as a serious prolapse. True uterine prolapse in pregnancy is rare and gets monitored closely if it happens. If you're feeling a bulge or strong pressure, tell your doctor so they can check properly.
A bit of downward pressure as the weight increases is normal and a lot of us feel it, especially later on. But if it feels like something is actually slipping down or there's pain, please get it checked rather than guessing. Your doctor will reassure you with an exam.
There's a difference between normal pelvic pressure and an actual prolapse, and only an examination can tell which it is. Rest and avoiding heavy strain help with the everyday heaviness. For anything more, your gynac is the right person to assess it.
