What happens if vitamin d is low during pregnancy?
My recent blood test showed vitamin d on the lower side and now im a little worried what it means for the baby. Im in my second trimester. Did anyone else have low vit d and how did it go?
Doc explained low vitamin D can lead to weak bones, more tiredness, and is linked to some pregnancy issues if very low. That is why they test it. Mine was corrected with a proper prescribed dose, dont self medicate the amount.
My vitamin D was low and my doctor added a weekly supplement and asked me to retest after some weeks. Low D can affect your bones and the baby's too, so they monitor it. Just keep up your follow ups and dont skip the retest.
So many of us office types are low on D because zero sunlight. My doctor gave a supplement and told me to sit in morning sun 15 min when possible. Easy to fix once you know, dont panic.
