What happens if we eat pineapple during pregnancy?
My mom keeps telling me to avoid pineapple totally and it scared me a bit because i ate some last week. Is there actually something to worry about or is it just a typical ghar wali baat? curious what others heard.
I asked my gynac this exactly. She said the bromelain scare is overblown and a regular serving is completely safe. She only said anyone with a sensitive stomach might get mild acidity, so eat in moderation.
One thing to note, pineapple is quite sweet so I had to limit it because of my sugar levels. Other than that it's not dangerous in normal amounts. If you have GD just keep the portion small.
A normal small portion of pineapple is fine, this whole panic is mostly a myth. You would have to eat huge huge amounts for it to matter. I ate it sometimes in both pregnancies, no problem.
Beta in our time elders always said avoid pineapple as it is heaty. A little bit now and then wont harm, but dont eat a full one in one go. If your doctor said nothing specific to avoid, a few pieces are okay.
