Dont know why but since pregnancy started im getting weird craving to chew raw rice, like kacha chawal. Im 12 weeks. Is it harmful or just a normal craving? Anyone else got this?
Arre beta, kacha chawal bilkul mat khao, pet me dard ho jayega. Hamare yahan kehte hain ki jab khoon ki kami hoti hai tabhi aisi cheezein khane ka mann karta hai. Gynac didi ko dikha lo aur badam-seb khao achhe se.
When I had weird cravings, my hospital dietitian strictly told me to avoid raw rice due to infection risks. I clearly asked my doctor about it, and they did a quick blood test and adjusted my iron supplements. Definitely bring this up with your hospital team.
Oh my god, please try to avoid it! I know the craving can be so strong, but raw rice can have harmful parasites, and it might also cause constipation or stomach pain. Get your Hb checked, maybe it's anemia, and don't worry, your doctor will help you handle this.
Eating raw rice is not safe because it can have bacteria and causes severe indigestion. Plus, it usually means your body is deficient in iron. Please check with your gynac as soon as possible to get your blood levels checked.
I understand these cravings can feel completely uncontrollable, dear. However, eating raw rice is usually a sign of pica, which often happens when your iron or calcium levels are low. Let your doctor know so they can gently guide you with the right supplements.
My pregnancy tracker app mentioned that craving non-food items like raw rice, clay, or chalk is called pica. It's super common when you have low iron levels. Definitely tell your doctor so they can check your blood reports and fix the deficiency.
I had terrible cravings and nausea, so I understand wanting to chew on something crunchy like raw rice. But it's really hard for your stomach to digest right now and might make your acidity worse. Try chewing on some roasted chana instead and talk to your doc.
