What happens if you eat too much salt during pregnancy?
I have been craving namkeen and chips a lot this trimester, eating way more salt than usual. Now im a bit worried it might affect something. Is it really bad or thoda okay?
Beta, namak thoda kam hi khaya karo. Purane zamane mein hum kehte the ki zyada namak se paani rukta hai shareer mein. Phir pairon mein sujan aati hai. Nimbu paani piya karo thoda, par doctor se bhi pooch lena ek baar.
It's really important to be careful with everything you consume when you're pregnant. Excess salt can increase blood pressure and cause swelling, which is not good. My advice is always to talk to your gynac about any dietary concerns. Better safe than sorry.
Oh, don't worry too much! I remember panicking about every little thing I ate too. While too much salt isn't ideal, especially for swelling or BP, a little extra occasionally probably won't harm. Just try to balance it out the next few days. If you're concerned, ask your doc.
Many pregnancy apps and health trackers actually give dietary guidelines. They usually advise moderating salt intake because it can contribute to fluid retention and potentially affect blood pressure. So, while a little bit is fine, consistently high salt could be an issue. You can track your intake and discuss with your gynac.
Well, if you're like me, you'll feel like a giant pickle sometimes, retaining so much water! Seriously though, too much salt can definitely make you swell up like a balloon and spike your blood pressure. And with two babies inside, trust me, you don't need any extra reasons to be uncomfortable.
Excessive salt intake can lead to water retention, swelling (edema), and sometimes even increase your blood pressure, which can be risky during pregnancy. I had some complications, so I learned how critical diet is. Please, if you're worried or notice a lot of swelling, consult your doctor immediately.
