What happens if you have a short cervix during pregnancy?
At my anomaly scan they mentioned my cervix is on the shorter side and now my mind is going everywhere. Im 20 weeks. What does this actually mean going forward, did anyone here have the same and how was ur pregnancy?
I had a short cervix and my doctor monitored me very closely with extra scans. They sometimes advise rest or other support depending on the case. Please dont read scary things online, just follow your gynac exactly because they handle this well.
Dont let this frighten you dear. Many women with this go on to have healthy babies with proper care. Stay close to your doctor and follow their advice, they will guide you step by step.
From what my doctor explained, a short cervix can raise the risk of early labour, so they keep a close eye on it. She said depending on the situation there are options to support it. The key thing is regular monitoring, so it is very much managed.
