What happens in the second trimester of pregnancy?
Almost done with my first trimester and the nausea is finally easing thank god. Everyone keeps saying the second trimester is the best phase but i dont really know what to expect from it. Tell me what changed for u during this time?
Looking back, the second trimester was my favourite. The sickness was behind me, I had a glow, and feeling those first kicks made it all so real. You also start showing properly. Soak it in, it really is a lovely time before the heaviness of the third trimester.
My doctor described it as weeks 13 to 27 roughly. Baby grows a lot, organs develop, you start feeling kicks usually around 18-22 weeks. The important anomaly scan happens here. Many women feel their best in this phase, more energy and appetite back.
Second trimester is honestly the best phase. Nausea usually settles, energy comes back, and you start feeling baby movements which is amazing. Your bump shows properly, theres the anomaly scan around 18-20 weeks too. Enjoy this stretch, it flies by.
Im in my second trimester right now! The constant sickness has finally eased and I feel more like myself. Just started feeling tiny flutters, is that the baby? It feels so surreal honestly. Did you all feel movements around this time too?
This is the calmer middle phase. Appetite improves, baby starts moving, bump becomes visible. Family will start pampering you more too. There are a couple of important scans and tests around this time, so keep up with your doctor visits regularly.
