Im reading these week by week apps and got confused. They say week 1 but technically u arent even pregnant yet na? Bit puzzled how the counting starts, can someone clear this up.
Nothing happens in week 1 honestly, its just your period. Doctors count pregnancy from the first day of your last period, so you wont feel anything that week. Dont overthink the week numbers.
Dont stress about week 1, its mostly a calculation thing. Your body is just getting ready, the actual baby part comes a bit later. Focus on eating well and starting your folic acid once doc confirms.
I got so confused by this too in the start. So week 1 is literally your period week, the baby isnt there yet. Did anyone else feel cheated when the doctor said that, haha I did.
Funny thing my doctor explained, week 1 is counted from your last period, so technically you arent even pregnant yet then. They count from there because the actual conception date is hard to pin down. Real action starts a couple weeks later.
If you put your dates in any pregnancy app it explains this nicely. Week 1 is the period week, then ovulation around week 2, conception after that. The apps made it click for me, try one.
