I used to do core workouts before and had a flat tummy, now im 5 months and honestly curious what actually happens to the ab muscles as the belly grows. Heard something about the muscles separating? anyone who knows pls explain in simple words.
My doctor explained that the rectus muscles separate down the middle to accommodate the growing uterus, the gap is normal. She said gentle recovery exercises after delivery help, but only once she clears you at the postpartum visit. Dont do crunches on your own.
Your tummy muscles slowly stretch apart to make room for baby, totally normal. After delivery they take time to come back, dont expect flat tummy immediately. With my second one it took me almost a year and thats fine.
Abs? what abs, they went on a 9 month vacation and came back slowly lol. Dont stress about it yaar, the body is literally growing a human, give it some credit.
Mine felt so weak after c-section, honestly even sitting up was hard for few weeks. The muscles need time to heal so go slow, dont rush into any tummy stuff. My doctor told me to wait till my checkup before doing anything.
The straight muscles in center actually separate a bit, its called diastasis I think. I stopped my normal core workouts after my gynac told me to, now just doing the gentle stuff she allowed. Pls ask ur doc before any ab exercise during pregnancy.
