What happens when alkaline phosphatase is high during pregnancy?
Got my blood reports and the alkaline phosphatase value is showing high. Im a bit worried now and will obviously ask my gynac in next visit, but till then thoda restless. Did anyone have this raised and was it normal?
Actually yaar, my report also had this high and I got so stressed! But doc said it’s just because of the placenta growing, perfectly normal in pregnancy.
According to my tracker app, alkaline phosphatase naturally increases up to 3 times in the third trimester. It's mostly normal, but do discuss it with your doctor to rule out liver issues.
Don't start taking random expensive tests or get scared. Just show the report to your gynac on your next visit, as it's usually standard for this level to rise during pregnancy.
