What helps with shortness of breath during pregnancy?
Lately even climbing one flight of stairs leaves me breathless, im in my third trimester. its uncomfortable specially at night when i lie down. what worked for you ladies to feel a little better?
Gentle breathing exercises helped me a lot, and slow short walks if your doctor has allowed. Dont rush up stairs, take it easy. Sitting upright instead of slouching makes a big difference honestly.
Beta, rest more and dont do everything in a hurry. Use an extra pillow at night and sleep on your side, it gives the lungs room. Small things help. Just mention it at your next checkup also.
I remember this feeling so well, used to feel breathless just walking to kitchen. I totally understand how scary it feels. It got better after delivery for me. Rest, propped up sleeping and patience helped, plus keeping doc informed.
It happens because baby grows up and pushes against your lungs, super common in later months. Slow down, sit straight, sleep with extra pillows propped up. Both my pregnancies i felt this, its annoying but normal mostly.
Mild breathlessness is common BUT please be careful. If it comes suddenly, with chest pain, swelling or you feel your heart racing, that is not normal, go to your doctor right away. Dont brush off sudden severe ones.
