Oh god, my PCV was low too and my doctor practically threatened to make me eat beets all day. Between the baby waking up every two hours and eating spinach, I barely survived! Definitely check with your gynac, they will probably give u some iron supplements to boost it.
I had a similar report during my routine checkup at my maternity clinic. The nurse and my consultant sat down with me and explained exactly what diet changes and supplements were needed to raise my hematocrit levels safely. Please give your hospital or doctor a call so they can review your blood report.
When my gynac told me my PCV was low, I took it as a free license to demand delicious pomegranate juice and apple-beetroot smoothies from my husband! Honestly, iron-rich foods are great, but do consult your doctor for safe prenatal iron tablets too.
I just delivered my baby last month, and my PCV dropped quite a bit in my third trimester. My doctor put me on a slightly higher iron dosage and advised eating more green leafy veggies, which brought it back up safely before delivery. Definitely don't ignore it and get your doctor's advice on the report.
Low PCV is very common in pregnancy, haan na. It usually means your iron levels are a bit low because baby is taking all the nutrients. But don't worry, just show the report to your doc and they will guide u on proper diet and supplements.
