My reports showed platelets a bit low and im 7 months along. Doc said we'll monitor but i couldnt stop googling and now im worried. Has anyone dealt with this during pregnancy?
I wont try to explain the medical side. In my case the doctor just repeated the test more often and it was managed fine. Honestly this is one of those things where only ur gynac can tell u whats normal for u, please go by her.
My doctor told me a slight fall in platelets is actually common in pregnancy and often nothing to panic about. But if it goes below a certain level they do more tests to find the cause. They specially keep an eye on it close to delivery. So just keep getting the counts checked as advised.
Depends how low it is yaar, a small dip is pretty common late in pregnancy. But the doctor needs to track it, specially before delivery. Dont start any iron or supplement on ur own thinking it will fix platelets, let the gynac decide whats needed.
Mine dropped a bit in the third trimester and it does need the doctor watching it closely, so please dont take this lightly. A mild drop can be normal in pregnancy but bigger drops they monitor carefully with repeat tests. Follow exactly what ur gynac says here.
Try not to frighten urself reading things online dear. A mild drop is often expected, the doctors know how to handle it. The main thing is to do the repeat tests on time and let them decide. They will guide u properly, just stay regular with checkups.
