At my last checkup the doc measured something and wrote 'fundal height' on my report. I just nodded but didnt really understand what fundus means. Anyone can explain in simple words?
My gynac explained the fundus is the top part of the uterus. At checkups they measure the fundal height, basically belly top to pubic bone, to roughly track if the baby is growing on schedule. Its a quick simple measurement they do each visit.
I heard my doctor say 'fundal height' and got nervous thinking it was some problem, anyone else? Turns out its just the top of the uterus and they measure it to see baby's growth. Felt silly for worrying after she explained.
Dont worry about the word beta, fundus is simply the top portion of ur womb. Doctors measure it to make sure baby is growing nicely. Its a normal part of ur checkups, nothing to fear.
Its the upper part of the womb. The doctor presses and measures from there to check baby's growth, they call it fundal height. Nothing scary, its a routine thing they do at almost every visit.
