Gynac told me i will need a non stress test in coming weeks and i just nodded but had no idea what it is. is it painful or anything to worry about? anyone done it can explain pls.
My gynac explained the NST checks the babys heart rate and how it responds to movements, usually in the later weeks. They strap two monitors on your belly and you just relax. She said it reassures them the baby is getting enough oxygen.
I had a couple of NSTs before my c-section since the baby was being watched. Honestly it is the easiest test, you just lie back and listen to the heartbeat for a while. Nothing painful, it actually felt comforting to hear baby.
It is a simple non invasive test to check the babys wellbeing, mostly in the third trimester. Monitors on the belly track heart rate and movements. Routine and painless, no need to worry about it.
