Im 36 and the hospital wrote something about advanced maternal age on my file. It kind of scared me a little honestly. What does it actually mean for me and the baby?
My doctor told me it basically means pregnancy at 35 and above. She said it just means a few more checkups and tests to keep an eye on things, not that something will go wrong. Plenty of healthy babies are born to women in this group.
I had my baby in this so called advanced age and I want to say dont let the label scare u. Yes there are extra scans, but it also means u get extra care. Take it as the doctors being thorough, not as something being wrong.
Its just a medical term for being pregnant at 35 or older. It doesnt mean ur high risk automatically, only that the doctor monitors a bit more closely. Honestly so many women conceive happily after 35 now, just follow ur gynac and ur fine.
Dear it simply refers to pregnancy from 35 onwards, sounds heavier than it is. The doctors just watch more carefully and may suggest a few more tests. Eat well, rest, and trust ur gynac, age is just one part of the picture.
It means pregnancy after 35 and yes the doctors keep a closer watch for some things. I would say go for all the recommended tests and scans without skipping any. Regular follow up is the main thing in this, dont miss appointments.
