My doctor wrote ANA test in my list and i had no idea what it is. Didnt get chance to ask her properly that day. Why is it done in pregnancy, should i be worried?
Its basically a blood test they sometimes do to check for autoimmune issues. Not everyone needs it. If urs got ordered just ask the doctor what she was looking for, dont google and panic.
My doc ordered ANA when checking for some autoimmune things. She said its just a screening test and a positive doesnt always mean a problem, needs to be read with other reports. Best to let ur doctor explain ur result.
I had this done because of my history. Please dont try to interpret it yourself, even mildly positive results need a doctor to put context to them. Ask ur gynac exactly why she ordered it.
I came across this test during my treatment too, they were checking certain antibodies. It sounds scary by name but its routine in some cases. Let ur doctor guide u through the report calmly.
