My hb came low in the report and doc mentioned anemia. Honestly i dont fully understand what it means for the baby and me. Can someone explain in simple words? feeling a little tense about it.
It's basically low blood count, very common in pregnancy. They check your hb in routine blood tests and give iron tablets if it's low. Eat iron rich food too, jaggery, dates, green veggies, and take the iron as prescribed.
Beta, we always gave the pregnant ones beetroot, dates, jaggery and green leafy sabzi to keep the blood up. These help alongside the doctor's iron tablets. But do take the medicine they give, that's important too.
My doctor explained anemia means low haemoglobin, basically low iron in the blood, which is common in pregnancy because your body needs more. She checked it with a blood test and put me on iron. It can make you very tired, so the tests and supplements matter.
I was anemic in my pregnancy and felt dizzy and breathless a lot. My doctor monitored it closely and adjusted my iron. Please dont ignore tiredness, get your hb checked, low levels really need proper treatment.
