My gynac wrote anomaly scan for next month and i just nodded but actually have no idea what it checks. Can someone explain in simple words what they look for in this one?
Its the detailed ultrasound usually done around 18 to 20 weeks to check the baby's organs, growth and development. My doctor called it the level 2 scan. It checks heart, brain, spine and all, very important one.
Honestly its one of the most important scans in pregnancy so dont skip it. It screens for any structural issues in the baby. Your gynac will schedule it around the 20 week mark.
I was so nervous before my anomaly scan, couldnt sleep the night before. But it went fine and seeing baby in detail was actually emotional. Try not to overthink it like I did.
