Saw BPD written in my anomaly scan report with some number next to it. Doc just said all normal but didnt explain. What does this BPD actually mean yaar?
It's a standard fetal biometry measurement for the baby's head. As long as your overall health is good and you're keeping active (with doc's permission for walking/yoga, of course!), baby's growth parameters like BPD usually stay on track. Just keep your appointments.
Oh, when you first hear these medical terms, it can feel so confusing and a little scary, I totally understand! BPD just means Biparietal Diameter, which is a measurement of your baby's head from one side to the other. It's a very routine thing doc checks in scans to see how baby's growing.
Haha, pregnancy is full of these acronyms, right? First LMP, then HCG, now BPD! It's just a fancy way to say your baby's head size. They just like to measure everything to make sure your little one is baking nicely. Don't stress!
Haan, BPD is just one of the measurements they take during your anomaly scan, usually in the second trimester. My doc kept track of it for my baby too. It helps them estimate the baby's age and growth, so nothing to worry about unless your gynac points something out.
