Got my anomaly scan report yesterday and there is this BPD written with some number. My gynac just said baby is fine but i didnt get to ask what it actually means. Anyone knows na what this is?
It is just the head measurement. Right now I am trying to put my baby to sleep, and looking at that same big BPD head that caused me so much sleeplessness! Enjoy these quiet scan days.

It's basically the size of your baby's head, like measuring if they inherited their father's big head or not! No need to stress, it's a very standard measurement they do in every scan.

BPD is biparietal diameter, measuring the distance between the two sides of the baby's head. My gynac explained that they use this along with femur length to estimate baby's weight and gestational age. As long as your doc says it's in the normal range, you are good to go.
Oh I remember seeing all these short forms in my reports and getting so overwhelmed! BPD is just measuring the baby's head from side to side. It brought back all those emotional memories of holding my little one for the first time. You are doing great, mama.
