Got my scan report and there's something written as BPD with a measurement. I have no idea what it means na. Can someone explain what BPD is and if my number is fine?
My doctor told me it's Biparietal Diameter, basically the width of the baby's head. Does anyone know if this number matches the actual pregnancy week on your report?
Oh, I panicked so much seeing 'BPD' and thought it was some brain issue! But my doctor told me it's just a standard measurement of the head diameter, absolutely nothing to worry about.
In my scan reports, BPD was always mentioned to check baby's development progress. I am not a doctor, but my gynac said it's just a normal way to track baby's growth week by week.
BPD is biparietal diameter, which measures the baby's head width during scans. Since I had a complex PCOS history, I always asked my doctor to explain the exact numbers to be safe.
It means Biparietal Diameter, measuring baby's head size. Please don't stress over individual scan numbers, but do show it to your doctor to ensure everything is progressing safely.
Haha, it just means the diameter of your baby's head! Basically, they are checking how big that little brain is getting, so don't worry, it's not a scary medical issue.
Beta, BPD is just a normal doctor's term for measuring the baby's head growth. Don't worry about these numbers, eat your almonds, sleep well, and let the doctor check the reports.
I just got my 20-week scan and saw BPD, which made me a bit anxious about whether my baby's head size is normal. Did anyone else worry about these measurements during their second trimester?
