What is bpd in pregnancy ultrasound?
Got my scan report and it mentions BPD with some measurement next to it. The doc was in a hurry and didnt explain. What does this actually mean and is it something I should worry about?
I had no idea what all those abbreviations meant on my report at first either. BPD is the head width, and along with a few others it gives the estimated weight. My app actually explained each one which helped.
BPD is biparietal diameter, basically the width of the baby's head measured side to side. My doctor said it's one of the measurements used to estimate age and growth. It's totally a routine number on the scan.
I used to google every single term on my scan report and scare myself, lol. Honestly just ask your doctor to walk you through it. They explain it in two minutes and the worry goes away.
