Someone mentioned chloasma when i showed her the dark patches coming on my cheeks and forehead. Im 5 months now and these patches keep getting darker. What exactly is this and does it go away after delivery?
These patches are pretty common na. I just stayed out of direct sun and used a gentle sunscreen, that kept it from worsening. Nothing serious, but if anything looks unusual to you, do mention to your doc.
My gynac called it the pregnancy mask, those brownish patches on cheeks and forehead. She said it is due to hormones and more pigment, totally harmless. It usually fades after delivery, and using sunscreen helps it not get darker.
I got these dark patches on my face in my second trimester and I felt so conscious about it honestly. My doctor reassured me it is normal in pregnancy and would lighten later. It did fade slowly after my baby came.
Oh the pregnancy glow comes with these little patches sometimes haha. Mine went away on its own months after delivery, dont stress about it. Just hat and sunscreen and you are good :)
