My gynac wrote colour doppler in my next scan list and i just nodded but didnt actually understand what it is. Im 32 weeks now. Can someone explain in simple words what they check in this? feeling a bit lost honestly.
Basically it measures how well blood is flowing between you, the placenta and baby. Its commonly done if doctor wants to monitor growth. Best to ask your gynac exactly why for your case.
Its a type of ultrasound that checks blood flow, like through the placenta and umbilical cord to baby. My doctor did it in third trimester to make sure baby was getting enough nutrition and oxygen. Totally painless, just like a normal scan.
Color doppler is just a special scan that shows blood flow to the baby. Nothing scary, dont panic if doc orders it, its often routine in later months. I had it both times.
I had color doppler because they were watching my baby growth closely. It actually reassured me a lot once results were fine. If your doctor suggested it, ask them what they are checking, they will explain.
