My doctor wrote colour doppler in my next scan list and i didnt understand what it is exactly. Is it different from the normal ultrasound i usually get? im 30 weeks now. someone pls explain in simple words.
My gynac explained the colour doppler checks the blood flow in the cord, placenta and baby. The colours just show direction and speed of blood, nothing scary. They usually do it in the third trimester to make sure baby is getting enough nutrition.
Its just a special ultrasound that looks at blood circulation to the baby. Totally painless and safe, same as a normal scan. Your doctor orders it when they want to monitor baby growth more closely, so no need to panic.
Oh I have my doppler scan next week and I was a little nervous reading the name. So its just checking blood flow, that makes me feel better. Did yours go fine?
