What is considered excessive exercise when trying to conceive?
we are trying to conceive since a few months and i go to the gym regularly. now im wondering if im overdoing it and that's affecting things. how much is too much? anyone who cut down their workout while ttc?
Even I used to worry about this a lot when we were planning! I read that doing very heavy weight training or running till u feel totally exhausted can affect periods. Anyone else who stopped heavy gymming to conceive?
Extreme workouts that make you miss your periods or feel totally drained are a big no. Since I had thyroid issues, regular doctor checkups and mild walking helped me balance things. Please ask your doctor once to see what intensity is safe for your body.
With my PCOS, I had to be very careful. Moderate exercise like yoga is great for insulin levels, but high-intensity workouts that cause stress to the body can backfire. Keep it balanced and don't push yourself to extremes.
Sweetheart, trying to conceive is already a very emotional phase, don't punish your body with harsh workouts. If you feel dizzy, extremely tired, or have muscle pain, that means it's excessive. Be gentle with yourself, light yoga or brisk walking is beautiful.
I recently delivered my baby and honestly, before conceiving I had to tone down my high-intensity gym sessions. Normal brisk walking and some basic stretching for 30-40 mins is more than enough. Heavy cardio can actually disturb your ovulation cycle.
