Im at 37 weeks now and everyone keeps saying alag alag thing, my MIL says 9 months done baby can come anytime but i keep reading different numbers online. Just want to understand from when it is actually counted as full term.
Dont stress too much about exact dates. Babies have their own timing, anywhere around 37 to 40 weeks is normal. Your doctor will guide you as you get closer.
From what my gynac told me, full term is around 39 to 40 weeks, and anything from 37 weeks is considered term-ish. My baby came at 38 and was perfectly fine.
My doctor explained it like this, 37-38 is early term, 39-40 is full term, and 41 onwards is late term. They prefer baby to stay till at least 39 weeks if everything is healthy. But each case is decided by your doc.
With twins my doc said full term is earlier, they rarely wait till 40, ha. For single baby its usually 39-40. So depends on your situation, ask your gynac.
