Got my first scan report today and it has CRL written with some mm value. My gynac just said baby is fine but i didnt understand what this term actually means. Can someone explain in simple words?
Oh I was so confused seeing this on my report too! Someone told me it just tells the baby size and dating. Did anyone else keep googling every single word on the scan report or was it just me haha.
CRL is crown rump length yaar, basically baby ki length head to bottom measured in the scan. They use it in early weeks to confirm how far along u are. Both my scans had it written, totally normal thing.
It stands for crown-rump length, used mainly to estimate gestational age in the first trimester. Your gynac is the right person to tell u if the value is on track, but generally it's a routine number on the report.
Dont stress over the abbreviations beta. CRL is just how they measure your little one's length in the early scan to know the weeks. Your doctor reads all this and tells u if everything is fine.
My doc explained it nicely. CRL means crown-rump length, they measure baby from head to the bottom in the early scan to fix the due date more accurately than LMP. She said in first trimester this is the most reliable measurement.
