My gynac mentioned fetal echo because of one family history point and I got scared hearing a new scan name. Is it related to baby's heart? Has anyone done it and how was it?
My doctor sent me for a fetal echo, it basically checks the baby's heart structure in detail. She said its done around 5-6 months specially if theres any family history or concern. Mine was all normal, felt relieved.
I had a fetal echo done as a precaution. Its just a detailed heart scan of the baby, painless like a normal sonography. Ask your gynac why they recommended it, they explain the reason.
Echo means echocardiography, a special ultrasound focused on baby's heart. Not everyone needs it, doctors suggest it when they want a closer look. Nothing scary about the scan itself.
I got nervous when doc wrote fetal echo on my slip, thought something was wrong. But its just a routine heart check for baby. Did anyone else feel anxious seeing it written?
